Juventus took a giant stride towards a potential Champions League final with Real Madrid as they defeated Leonardo Jardim's exciting Monaco side in a game they controlled from start to finish. It didn't even seem that difficult.
Kylian Mbappe was impressive, regularly threatening the World Cup winning back three of Andrea Barzagli, Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, twisting and turning, turning up in attacking positions and getting a few shots away at Gianluigi Buffon, 21 years his Authentic Alfred Morris Womens Jersey senior but he, nor his highly praised teammates could find a way past this organised, solid and very Italian defensive performance.
Much has been made of Higuain's failure to influence high profile matches in a Juventus shirt but here he finally delivered. The first goal capped off a wonderful team move, started by Buffon and ended by the Argentinian, with delightful flicks, measured chipped passes and http://www.nikecowboysjerseys.com/alfred-morris-jersey-for-sale-c-51.html calm, composed finish beyond Danijel Subasic.
Where the individual brilliance of Cristiano Ronaldo settled the tie on Tuesday night, Juventus' opening goal was the product of the Juventus team, with clever players linking beautifully to tear apart a Monaco defence that didn't realise it was yet in trouble.
Dani Alves, signed from Barcelona last summer, was superb throughout. At 33 years of age, his three year contract was questioned by supporters of both clubs but this performance will have them pulling their hair out at the decision to let him leave. A right-back in defensive situations, Alves spent most of the game as an attacking midfielder pulling defenders out wide, pinning Monaco's wingers back and providing Redskins Authentic Jersey blind-sided back-heel assist for Higuain's opener.

Paolo Dybala robbed the masked Bakayoko, found Alves on the overlap and watched as the Brazilian's switched high pass set Higuain up at the back post, dropping perfectly at the feet of the striker. The €90 million man made no mistake with the finish and the Italians retreated into their defensive shell to see out the game.
Chiellini was perhaps fortunate not to see red for a deliberate forearm/elbow on Radamel Falcao late on but by that point it would have made little difference.
There will still be hope that Monaco can overturn the deficit in the return leg but the way Juventus dealt with Barcelona in Turin suggests Jardim's side must wait their turn to realise that vast potential. These exciting wonderkids will have their time, but for now this tie belongs to the experienced elders of the Old Lady.

He's the player who has always been one step ahead of the opposition.
A product of the feted La Masia youth system, Xavi Hernández went on to embody the footballing ideals of Spain and Barcelona for almost two decades, prompting Pep Guardiola to call him "the best Catalan player in history" and Broncos Jersey Andres Iniesta to "run out of eulogies" in trying to describe his former teammate.
Not content with winning eight La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, two European Championships and his country's first ever World Cup, the 37-year-old Xavi is now plotting his next move."I'm not just in Qatar to play football," Xavi tells CNN, having called time on his Barcelona career in 2015 to begin a new chapter at Al-Sadd SC. "I want to go far. Of course, it's an option. It's an option which I would like.
"It's an objective to help them have a good World Cup in 2022, and then in my mind I have it to come back to Barcelona.
"One of my dreams in the future is to coach FC Barcelona."
Dubbed the "puppet master" during his seventeen years at the heart of Barcelona's senior side, it's not difficult to envisage Xavi in the dugout.
It's as if his career has been defined by his passing, from the first Barcelona youth game as a scrawny eleven-year-old to the final act in the shirt -- lifting the 2015 Champions League trophy as captain.
It's said his parents even met over a game of table football. With the team currently languishing bottom of its Asian qualifying group ahead of Russia 2018, the 2022 World Cup will likely be Qatar's first major tournament.

When Red Sox fans hurled peanuts and the N-word toward Orioles outfielder Adam Jones in Fenway Park, it was a reminder of the Boston's racial legacy - particularly around its sports teams.
Boston's reputation as a racist sports town developed through decades of barriers broken and maintained, intertwined with broader struggles for progress along with today's climate of racial tension that sports can't avoid.
Despite its teams and the city making strides on race, Boston still has perceptions of racism to overcome."Boston has a reputation, partially left over from a long time ago, that there is more racism within Boston sports," said Richard Lapchick, director of the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport at the University of Central Florida. "The type of incident that happened ... is something I would've expected Indians Authentic Jersey to read about in Boston 25 years ago."Jones was given an extended ovation on Tuesday night as he stepped to the plate for his first at-bat, a moment sharply different from what he described Monday night, saying he heard fans call him the N-word and had peanuts thrown in his direction in the dugout, hitting a nearby police officer. The All-Star said he felt "it was just the right time" to speak out after experiencing previous racial heckling at Fenway over 12 seasons, though he said it was more a sign of larger racial issues than an indictment of Boston or its fans. Several black ballplayers Tuesday said Jones was just describing what they regularly experience.
The Celtics and the Bruins were pioneers in professional basketball and hockey during the 1950s. But the Red Sox were the last Major League Baseball team to field a black player. Pumpsie Green debuted at Fenway in 1959 - more than a decade after Jackie Robinson played for the Dodgers, and even after Willie O'Ree took the ice for Boston in the all-white National Hockey League. The Red Sox ballpark and offices are located on Yawkey Way, named for franchise owner Tom Yawkey who presided over the team at the time. The Red Sox passed on Robinson in 1945 and also passed http://www.texansproshops.com a chance to sign future Hall of Famer Willie Mays.
The Celtics were the first team to draft a black player, the first to field an all-black starting five and the first to hire a black head coach. Bill Russell was among the league's first black players and champions, but wasn't embraced by fans during his career and was embittered by his experience in Boston for years, though he is now a beloved figure in the city. In the 1980s, the rivalry between the white Celtics Larry Bird and the African-American Lakers star Magic Johnson epitomized the NBA's racial divide. Earlier this season, Celtics forward Jae Crowder, who is black, said he felt "disrespected" by fans openly coveting white potential free agent Gordon Hawyard, who is white, rekindling the debate.
In 2012, some fans upset with the Washington Capitals bouncing the Boston Bruins from the NHL playoffs lobbed racial insults on Twitter toward Joel Ward, a Canadian who is black. And in an episode of Saturday Night Live before the New England Patriots played in the Super Bowl this year, comedian Michael Che called Boston "the most racist city I've ever been to."Boston fans pride themselves on rabidly texans Authentic Jersey supporting one of America's greatest sports cities. While the Sox-Orioles rivalry shouldn't automatically result in racism, "for some white Americans, that's often where they go if they're angry," said University of Hartford sociologist Woody Doane."Pulling a racial epithet out of our back pocket is something a lot of us still do," said Doane, who studies sports, society and whiteness.
Boston's racial history - including fights over segregated housing, schools and politics - has spilled into sports as some working class residents experience a "white crisis," said University of Connecticut sociologist Matthew Hughey."They can't live up to the levels of superiority they're told they're supposed to naturally have, so they turn to symbolic things or people to build a sense of identity and to take out a sense of frustration," Hughey said. "Sports can be that sense of identity."
Ballparks can also be an environment where some people feel more comfortable expressing offensive views while others feel uncomfortable or unwelcome.More black and Latino fans have begun attending games at Fenway, but they remain largely in http://www.officialindianstore.com the minority, said Doane, who has regularly attended Red Sox games since 1963."It's a white space," Doane said. "If you are a person of color there, you would definitely feel in the minority."
The situation is not much different for players on the field. Lapchick's 2017 report card on Major League Baseball showed only 7.7 percent of players are African-Americans - the lowest figure in the years since the institute has tracked the data. Black players have long commented on the atmosphere at Fenway, saying they expect racial taunts.

• Eriksen strikes late to keep Spurs in title huntDateWed Apr 26, 2017 8:03 pm

Christian Eriksen reignited Tottenham's bid to catch Premier League leaders Chelsea as the Dane's late blast sealed a vital 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Mauricio Pochettino's side were well below their best for long periods at Selhurst Park, but Eriksen Chris Carpenter Womens Jersey came to the rescue in dramatic fashion with 12 minutes left.
His sumptuous long-range strike closed the gap on Chelsea to four points after their title rivals had moved seven points clear with a win over Southampton 24 hours earlier.
With five games remaining, Tottenham remain in the hunt to be crowned champions for the first time since 1961 as they look to avenge Sunday's agonising FA Cup semi-final defeat against Chelsea by pipping them to the title.
Pochettino will hope his players are revitalised by their eighth successive league win, but the Tottenham boss must know they have to improve to beat Arsenal in Sunday's crucial north London derby.
After defeating Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool recently, Palace deserved better than defeat here, although they should still be safe from relegation.
Recognising the weakness that Chelsea http://www.officialbaseballcardinalsstore.com/Carlos_Martinez_Jersey exploited so ruthlessly, Pochettino dropped Son Heung-Min and recalled Ben Davies after his experiment with using the South Korea forward out of position at left wing-back failed at Wembley.
Despite that change, it wasn't easy for Tottenham to erase the scars of their semi-final collapse.
When Eriksen worked space for a shot, the winger's hurried effort sailed wide and Victor Wanyama fared no better with a wayward strike from an acute angle.
Those bungled early raids foreshadowed a subdued half from Tottenham as they struggled to rebuild their shaken confidence.
Faced with a supremely organised Palace side with the pace and power to hurt them on the counter, Pochettino's men looked fatigued mentally and physically.
Christian Benteke threatened to bludgeon the visitors into submission when the muscular Palace striker tested Hugo Lloris with a low strike.
Anxiety was afflicting every decision Tottenham took and when Aqib Talib Authentic Jersey weak clearance fell to Kyle Walker in space inside the penalty area, the defender wastefully volleyed high over the bar.
Already on a booking, Wanyama was fortunate to escape a red card after catching Andros Townsend with a sliding tackle.
Townsend was proving a thorn in his old team's side and the winger fired just over after a clever turn took him past the Tottenham defence.
Desperate to ignite his punchless side, Pochettino sent on Son and Moussa Sissoko at half-time to give Tottenham an extra man in midfield and the changes gradually had a positive effect.
Just as significantly, Mamadou Sakho, who had been imperious at the heart of the Palace defence, was carried off early in the second half after his knee twisted awkwardly when he stretched to tackle Harry Kane.
Tottenham should have taken immediate advantage of Sakho's absence when Walker's cross picked out Alli's well-timed run, but the midfielder guided his shot wide from close-range.
Alli produced a more accurate effort moments later, yet it lacked the power to beat Wayne Hennessey and when Kane headed straight at the Palace keeper soon after it appeared Tottenham were destined to be frustrated.
But Eriksen had other ideas and the Dane snatched the winner with a bolt http://www.officialauthenticbroncostore.com/Nike-Aqib-Talib-Jersey.html from the blue in the 78th minute.
Dropping deep to take possession, Kane teed up Eriksen and, as Palace backed off, he unleashed a precise low 25-yard strike that fizzed past the slow to react Hennessey and sparked wild celebrations from Pochettino and his players.

• Chelsea tighten title grip after Diego CostaDateTue Apr 25, 2017 10:14 pm
Topic by pinkpink. Forum: Forum News

Antonio Conte had worn a scowl for much of this match, pounding his technical area as furiously as ever and kicking everything from water bottles to medical bags whenever his players’ concentration lapsed. “I wanted to kick the ball because sometimes, believe me, I want to play,” said the Chelsea Alexei Kovalev Youth Jersey manager in the aftermath as the adrenaline gave way to exhaustion. “But I know that if I kick the ball, the referee will probably send me off.”
And yet, by the end, he was pointing to the heavens in delight as Diego Costa, a beast awakened, scored twice after the interval to nullify the visitors’ threat and banish memories of that recent 2-0 defeat at Manchester United.
The Italian acknowledged just how significant this victory could prove to be, potentially sapping hope from Tottenham’s before their tricky trip to Crystal Palace on Wednesday night. “It feels like a massive step,” said Gary Cahill, whose thumping header had restored the home side’s lead in first-half stoppage time. Costa may have caught the eye with his first league goals since early March, but it was the captain’s timely effort which set the tone. His was the kind of goal John Terry might once have supplied.
Plenty of Chelsea’s key performers had risen to this occasion before the end. Cesc Fàbregas was outstanding, striking delicious passes from deep when he was not trading challenges with Oriol Romeu. The cross he arced over from Eden Hazard’s short http://www.authenticcanadiensonline.com/Authentic-Andrei-Markov-Jersey corner nine minutes into the second period proved to be his 103rd Premier League assist, with Costa holding off Ryan Bertrand to plant a header into the net. Hazard was a livewire, maintaining the high standards he has set all season. Southampton had been guilty of losing him early on as he ambled on to Costa’s lay-off, eluding Romeu in the process, to fire an accurate finish across Fraser Forster and into the corner.
Chelsea needed this after Old Trafford. There had still been periods when Southampton’s players, fresh from a weekend off, had threatened to wrest the initiative but just as at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham, the more clinical team would prevail. The visitors were at their most troublesome when Soufiane Bufal and Dusan Tadic were scuttling down the wings, fed by the busy energy and canny deliveries of Steven Davis and James Ward-Prowse.
The England midfielder had delivered the corner from which Chelsea conceded, for the 11th Premier League game in succession, before the half-hour mark. Nemanja Matic’s inadvertent flick had set the home defenders on their heels, with Manolo Gabbiadini Alfred Morris Womens Jersey allowed time to collect and turn inside before poking the loose ball back across goal. Thibaut Courtois’ touch presented it to Romeu and the former Chelsea player simply could not miss.
There was a period thereafter when Chelsea threatened to wilt, but a barnstorming run down the right from N’Golo Kante seemed to shake them awake once again, with Cahill’s telling contribution delivered shortly afterwards. The centre-half had spent two nights in hospital last week recovering from a severe bout of gastroenteritis, and missed Saturday’s semi-final. “The lads didn’t miss me at Wembley,” he said. They needed him here, easing away from Cédric Soares as Southampton’s back-line laboured to repel crosses from either flank in quick succession. Marcos Alonso looped a header back towards the six-yard box where Cahill powered his attempt down and in. He had actually risked an immediate return to casualty by taking the header clean off Costa’s boot as the striker attempted an overhead kick.
Chelsea did not look back and even offered Terry his first taste of Premier League football since November in what time remained, with Bertrand’s late goal for the visitors a mere consolation.
Conte’s side now need four victories from their remaining fixtures to become champions, although that is supposing Tottenham maintain winning form during their trickier run-in. Spurs have no leeway and the leaders will watch events at http://www.nikecowboysjerseys.com/ Selhurst Park on Wednesday with interest, but they can sense the title edging ever closer. “We must be confident about the future,” added Conte. “We only have to think about ourselves.”

London - Diego Costa scored his 50th and 51st Premier League goals as Chelsea overcame spirited Southampton 4-2 on Tuesday to establish a seven-point lead at the top of the table.
Costa set up Eden Hazard's early opener, which was cancelled out by Oriol Romeu, before Gary Cahill restored the hosts' lead at an unseasonably cold Stamford Bridge.
Costa sealed victory with a second-half brace, ending a seven-game goal drought Authentic Adam Gotsis Womens Jersey and heaping the pressure on second-place Tottenham Hotspur, who visit in-form Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Ryan Bertrand added a stoppage-time consolation for Southampton, who remain ninth.
Having beaten Spurs in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday, Chelsea's latest win reaffirmed the status of Antonio Conte's side as England's team to beat.
They face a thorny trip to Everton this weekend and have now gone 11 league games http://www.officialauthenticbroncostore.com/Nike-Bradley-Roby-Jersey.html without a clean sheet -- their longest run since 1996 -- but the finishing line is just five games away.
Hazard, Costa and Cesc Fabregas returned to the Chelsea XI after starting Saturday's 4-2 win over Tottenham on the bench and they combined for the fifth-minute opener.
Fabregas's pass from halfway sent Costa scampering away down the inside-right channel and his cut-back was swept into the bottom-left corner by Hazard.
The Belgian forward has now scored 15 goals in a Premier League season for the first time, his highest tally since netting 20 times for Lille in 2011-12.
The trio were at it again shortly after, Costa deftly cushioning Fabregas's pass into the path of Hazard, who curled well wide.
But there had already been nervy moments in the hosts' penalty area -- an unmarked Jack Stephens volleying tamely at Thibaut Courtois -- and before long Southampton were level.
James Ward-Prowse's corner from the left was inadvertently flicked on by Cesar Azpilicueta and reached the unattended Manolo Gabbiadini at the back post.
The Italian's cross-shot flicked off Courtois and was tapped in by Chelsea old Francisco Rodriguez Youth Jersey boy Romeu, who had last scored in January 2016.
Set-pieces continued to prove the home side's Achilles heel, with Courtois obliged to swat away a dangerous Ward-Prowse free-kick before Sofiane Boufal thrashed into the side-netting at a corner.
A storming run by N'Golo Kante forced Stephens into a desperate headed clearance and Costa had a penalty appeal turned down, but Chelsea were on the ropes until Cahill struck in first-half stoppage time.
Kante's deep cross was helped on by Marcos Alonso and with Costa launching himself into a mid-air scissors kick, the England captain charged in bravely to head home.
Costa would not be denied the next time he got a sight of goal in the 53rd minute as he brought up a half-century of league goals on his 85th appearance since signing from Atletico Madrid in 2014.
After a short corner with Hazard, Fabregas lofted a cross to the far post and Costa held off Bertrand to plant a header past Fraser Forster.
Dusan Tadic worked Courtois with a skidding effort and Gabbiadini hit the http://www.authentictigershop.com/authentic-44-daniel-norris-jersey.html side-netting after again being left unmarked at a corner, moving Conte to angrily kick a bag beside the dug-out.
Chelsea club captain John Terry came on for the final five minutes and was afforded a standing ovation in his first appearance since announcing he will leave the club at the end of the season.
After Kante and substitute Pedro had threatened for Chelsea, Costa made it 4-1 with a delightful late goal, swapping passes with first Hazard and then Pedro before drilling a low shot past Forster.

It is July 2008. Five months have passed since Kim Clijsters gave birth to her first child, and the Belgian is back on the tennis court for the first time.
Movements which were once as natural as flying is to a bird are now off limits. There will be no lunging towards tramlines, or stretching every sinew to serve at speed. The grand slam champion has to lakers Authentic Jersey begin from the very beginning. She is starting from zero.
She attempts to hit the ball in quick succession, but her heart rate bursts to 180 beats per minute. A no-go zone for the new mum. A gentle two-shot rally with her coach is her maximum.
Clijsters' return to professional tennis will be measured, calculated. Progress will be made at a crawl.
For a 27-year-old woman who has already been world No.1, life will, sometimes, be frustrating, but there is no fast-track to sporting success, even for a talent such as Clijsters.
It will be another seven months before she is ready to http://www.officiallakersshoponline.com/Brandon_Ingram_Jersey play competitively, to challenge herself against her peers.
One of the greatest athletes of her generation is expecting her first child and fresh challenges, a new perspective, are before her.
Williams has said she will make her tennis comeback next year, but will a 35-year-old who has won it all really return to the sport in which she made her name?
Wim Fissette, Clijsters' former coach, believes we have seen the last of Williams at grand slams, dazzling with her flawless serve, overpowering opponents with her destructive groundstrokes.
Having won one major title and been retired for two years, Clijsters felt she still had something to prove, as does two-time grand slam champion Victoria Azarenka, another of Fissette's former charges who, aged 27, will make her Darryl Dawkins Authentic Jersey comeback in July, having given birth to a baby boy in December.
"What I found the most important with both players was that they still had a lot they wanted to, and believe they could, achieve," Fissette -- Clijsters' coach when the Belgian won three grand slams during her comeback from pregnancy -- told CNN Sport.
"They had big dreams and big goals and they used that motivation from the moment they were pregnant, to stay fit and start training quite shortly after giving birth.
"With the right motivation, anything is possible.
"Science is at a point where you can be very fit at 37 or 38. If she has that goal to come back next year she will be fine but, personally, I don't see her coming back.
"She's achieved everything. She's the best tennis player of all time, who will be 36 in September and is about to have a baby.
"She will realize, when she gives birth, that being a mum will be http://www.official76erstore.com/Gerald_Henderson_Jersey better feeling than all her grand slam wins put together and she will enjoy the family life."
Fissette points to Williams' past struggles with motivation to support his argument.
Until Williams partnered with the tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou nearly five years ago, the now 23-time grand slam champion seemed, for a period, to lack hunger. She had been competing less and less, grand slam success was no longer a given.
The Frenchman shifted her focus onto records, onto building a legacy, and Williams began collecting majors again with renewed vigor.

• When it comes to 2017 NFL draft, who's No. 2?DateMon Apr 24, 2017 6:01 pm

Myles Garrett, the defensive end from Texas A&M, will be the first player selected by Cleveland when the NFL draft commences Thursday night in Philadelphia ... barring, of course, a crazy confluence of events that could probably only materialize around the Browns.
Sure, there are rumblings that team brass are still debating whether to shock the world and use the top pick on North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. I can’t quite buy that one, quarterback or not. Trubisky is not Andrew Luck Islanders Jersey Jameis Winston. But it’s draft season — when smokescreens, innuendo, rumors and disinformation are sprinkled into the mix with 40-yard dash times and Wonderlic scores.
Besides, for weeks — long before draft savant Warren Sapp chimed in to dog Garrett’s work ethic — the experts have pretty much agreed on one thing about this year’s crop: The Aggie pass rusher who killed it at the scouting combine is the biggest prize. (Conventional wisdom accurately predicted JaMarcus Russell would be No. 1 in 2007, as much as the Oakland Raiders would eventually wish they'd picked Calvin Johnson instead, so let's not put Garrett in the Hall of Fame just yet.)
In this case, though, the intrigue starts with the San Francisco 49ers' selection: Who’s No. 2?Touted for its defensive depth, this draft is as unpredictable at the top as any that I can recall, going back at least a couple of decades. It' setting the http://www.officialislandersproshop.com/Anders_Lee_Jersey stage for a flurry of trades, surprises and more second guessing than usual.
After all, new Niners general manager John Lynch said during his pre-draft press conference Monday that he will listen to offers for the second pick into Thursday, and that the phone has been ringing. He didn’t exactly co-sign an NFL Network report that contended the 49ers are “strongly considering” a quarterback — Trubisky or Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, you’d think — but he didn’t deny that it’s a possibility, either. He also cavaliers Youth Jersey said it was fair to conclude that they have narrowed the options to two or three players, identities undisclosed.“Sometimes,” Lynch said at one point during his briefing, “if you can be transparent, that’s the best poker you can play.”The past two years, quarterbacks went 1-2 at the top, and you knew it was coming — though I’m not sure that the second player taken a year ago, Carson Wentz, won’t have a better career than Jared Goff. The win-win combination of Winston and Marcus Mariota kicked off the 2015 draft.
Now it seems quite possible that a quarterback won’t get picked in the top five for only the second time since Y2K, even though Clemson coach Dabo Swinney warned teams of passing http://www.cavaliersproshop.com/Andrew_Bogut_Jersey Watson, whom he deemed the “Michael Jordan” of the draft. The guesses about what Lynch will do, teamed with rookie coach Kyle Shanahan, run the gamut.ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. slotted Stanford defensive end Solomon Thomas to San Francisco, while his colleague, Todd McShay, declares that Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore will be the 49ers' pick.
Other mock picks include NFL Network’s Charley Casserly predicting LSU running back Leonard Fournette, while USA TODAY Sports’ Nate Davis agrees with NFLN's Bucky Brooks that the choice should be LSU safety Jamal Adams. Count MMQB’s Peter King and NFLDraftScout.com’s Rob Rang on the Thomas tally.
And that’s the beauty of mock drafts, which are always subject to being busted by trades. Yet the way it’s shaping up this year — from No. 2 on down, and with more medical red flags among top prospects than usual — more mock drafts are in danger of being mocked than usual.
NFL teams conduct their own mocks, part of the pre-draft preparation that supplements building the draft boards that rank players and to project inevitable communication with potential trade partners. Yet clubs pay attention to the mock drafts outside the building, too — even if merely for entertainment purposes.“It’s funny,” said Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn, “because I think some are fairly accurate, and some are like completely not even close.”Which sounds a lot like the hit-or-miss nature of the draft.Quinn, currently holding the 21st pick http://www.officialislandersproshop.com/Billy_Smith_Jersey the first round, surely takes mental notes on whom pundits project to the Lions.“Everyone else knows except for me," he said.Given the uncertainty this year, seems nobody really knows.

The very last kick of the clásico could not have been more perfectly executed nor more dramatically delivered, Lionel Messi guiding the ball inside the post to Indians Jersey take his team top. It was the 500th goal of his career and few have been more significant. It prompted Luis Enrique to say: “He is the best player in history.”
Just when it seemed all was lost there may be life in La Liga; there is life in Barcelona too. With five games to go they are leaders on their head-to-head record and, although Real Madrid have a game in hand Zinedine Zidane rightly says “we still depend on ourselves,” nothing feels impossible now.
Thirty seconds earlier it had done. Barcelona thought they had been denied. There was a kind of crushing inevitability about the way James Rodríguez scored with five minutes to go. His goal made it 2-2, a scoreline that, had it stood, would have all but clinched the title, and in an appropriate way. This was a portrait of Madrid this season, a late goal from a substitute, another comeback, fans erupting in joy, Madrid, down to 10 men after Sergio Ramos’s 77th-minute red card, doing it again.
In fact, it was Barcelona who did it again. With the final seconds slipping away Sergi Roberto ran from deep and just kept on running. André Gomes went with him and so did Jordi Alba. When he pulled it back, Messi curled his shot into the corner. He had a black eye from the last game, a bleeding mouth from this one and he was still standing at the north end holding his shirt out, disbelief http://www.texansproshops.com/Aj_Bouye_Jersey_Cheap engulfing everything, when the referee blew the final whistle. “He is incredibly decisive at all times,” Luis Enrique, the Barcelona manager, added. “I have seen a lot of football, it is a great pleasure that he is one of us.”
What a game this had been, and what a finish it had – one that reflected the 92 minutes that went before. It had been wonderful, wild and open to the end. Emotions swung with attacks. A classic clásico in which, if Messi stood above them all, it was not because others did not stand tall. It had been captivating from start to finish. “It was a match between two wonderful teams that gave everything to win and in truth either side could have been victorious,” Luis Enrique said.
Madrid went straight at Barcelona and they were appealing for a penalty after 91 seconds, when Cristiano Ronaldo was caught by Samuel Umtiti, and that proved just the start of a breathless game. Two teams went Akeem Dent Jersey each other and it was hard to keep up, so much was happening.
Just listing the shots could fill a page: Ronaldo, Andrés Iniesta, Luis Suárez twice, Ronaldo again, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, all inside 20 minutes. Marc-André Ter Stegen and Keylor Navas started making saves early and were not about to stop. The game was not half an hour old when Madrid got the opener, Ter Stegen punching out a corner that Marcelo turned back in for Ramos to nudge against the post before Casemiro followed up.
Thirty minutes had only just passed when the lead was gone again. Suárez let Sergio Busquets’ pass run through his legs and Messi, dashing through the middle from deep where he had taken hold of the game, stepped beyond Luka Modric and Dani Carvajal and struck under Navas. Three sharp, smooth touches taken with a bandage still in his mouth – there since Marcelo had caught him with an elbow.
Still it flowed. Modric was stopped by Ter Stegen and Bale curled a shot over but then departed feeling his calf. Messi’s shot deflected wide and a promising break was ended by Casemiro, as was often the way. Next Alba was unable to find Suárez alone in the area and from the corner Navas missed the ball. He was fortunate that Messi did too, steering a volley wide from two yards.
Half-time did nothing to slow them down. Ter Stegen tipped wide from http://www.officialindianstore.com/Bob_Feller_Jersey Toni Kroos, then blocked Benzema’s header. Paco Alcácer toe-poked straight at Navas, who then saved superbly from Gerard Piqué’s header. And so it went, on and on.
Marco Asensio had replaced Bale, adding even more quality to this glittering cast, even in the absence of the suspended Neymar, and he laid across to Ronaldo alone in front of goal but the Portuguese, reaching back, hooked over. Navas then blocked Suárez and Messi.
Still, it did not let up, Ter Stegen saving from Asensio before Ivan Rakitic stepped inside from the right and sent the ball arrowing into the far corner. Barcelona were a goal up and a man up too when Ramos was sent off for taking off to land a two-footed tackle on Messi.
Suárez and Gomes then combined to give Piqué the kind of opportunity that he, arch anti-Madridista and wind-up merchant in chief, dreams of but he smashed the ball straight at Navas. With 10 minutes left it was not done, although it might have been when yet another Messi run ended with yet another Navas save. There was still much to come, in fact. Even the finale proved not to be the finale at all. James turned in Marcelo’s cross with five minutes to go and, while there were even chances for Madrid to win, a draw would have been enough; they would had done it, one hand on their first title Carlos Martinez Youth Jersey five years. Or so everyone thought.

This is no way to live. Not for the long-term, anyway. Not when your backup catcher and a couple of fresh arrivals from the minors are your most reliable offensive weapons.
OK, fine, it’s a fluke that Jim Adduci, John Hicks and Alex Avila lead the Tigers Francois Beauchemin Womens Jersey batting average and slugging percentage after the first three weeks of the season. Adduci has been with the team for a few hours; Hicks only a couple of days.Their effort over the weekend in Minneapolis makes for a nice story. It would take an especially cynical soul not to feel good for Adduci, who, at 31, probably figured his major league career was finished.
The Canadian-born outfielder – and sometimes first baseman – hadn’t played in the bigs since 2014. And that stint with Texas wasn’t too memorable – he hit .168 for the season.
So when he arrived from the Toledo Mud Hens via Lehigh Valley, Pa., today, he didn’t figure to hammer out three hits, knock in two runs, and generally look like a better option at the plate than the player he replaced, centerfielder Jacoby Jones. And he probably isn’t. It’s not easy to outrun your resume in this game.Which is what we might say of Avila, too. But http://www.officialavalancheauthentic.com/Francois_Beauchemin_Jersey then the No. 2 catcher keeps hitting homers and knocking in runs – he’s tied for the fifth most RBIs on the team with seven. That’s saying something for a part-time player.
That’s also saying something for the state of the Tigers’ offense. It hasn’t been good. It has, however, been opportunistic.
Until today's 13-4 win over Minnesota, the Tigers hadn’t beaten a team by more than three runs. In fact, six of their 10 wins have come by two runs or fewer. This makes the bullpen issues starker, because the team is involved in close games. But let’s get to the bullpen in a minute.
Because we’re discussing the offense.
As usual, the Tigers’ model involves hitting homers and bombs into the gaps. As a strategy, it’s not awful. Yet relying on older sluggers to slug is risky, as you already know, because of health.
One of the team’s most important sluggers, J.D. Martinez, hasn’t played this season due to a foot injury. Now, Miguel Cabrera, the most important slugger, is on the 10-day disabled list with a groin strain.
That’s not good, especially because Cabrera was just beginning to find his rhythm. But also because these sorts of minor injuries are what can bog down power hitters in their 30s.
For this offense to work, Martinez and Cabrera and Victor Martinez have to stay on Alexei Kovalev Authentic Jersey the field. Avila, Hicks and Adduci can’t carry this offense. Nor can Jose Iglesias, who third on the team in batting average among everyday players.
Iglesias is, of course, also out, currently on the 7-day concussion disabled list. When he returns, whatever the Tigers get from his bat will be a bonus.
The production has to come from Ian Kinsler, Nick Castellanos and the middle of the order. History tells us Kinsler and Castellanos should hit. If they do, and the big guys stay healthy, this offense will be fine.
Then again, that’s a lot of ifs, and we haven’t gotten back to the bullpen yet. Right now, it’s the worst in the American League.
This isn’t my opinion. This is based on both earned run average and WHIP, walks http://www.authenticcanadiensonline.com/Authentic-Alexei-Emelin-Jersey and hits per innings pitched.
Numbers, though, don’t tell us exactly what’s going on with the weakest part of the team. There are some good, even very good, arms in the bullpen. When and how they are used is the question.
Justin Wilson, the left-hander, has been the Tigers’ best reliever. Alex Wilson, the right-hander, has been the second-best.
After that, it’s an acid churn when anyone else takes the mound. Closer Francisco Rodriguez is obviously not the pitcher he was even a year ago. He gave up another homer Saturday afternoon.

• Mourinho reminded Spurs how to beat ChelseaDateThu Apr 20, 2017 10:57 pm
Topic by pinkpink. Forum: Forum News

Chelsea were poor against Manchester United, very poor. That for the first time in a decade they did not manage Blake Comeau Womens Jersey shot on target is damning. And it is true that they have not of late been playing with the relentlessness they did through the final three months of last year. But the idea they were somehow been found out on Sunday seems weirdly exaggerated. The title race may be on again but Chelsea have a lead of four points over Tottenham, whatever psychological pressure Spurs may be able to apply in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final.
In terms of shape, Chelsea have had two major strengths since making the switch to 3-4-2-1 after the defeat to Arsenal in their sixth Premier League game of the season. The back three, shielded by N’Golo Kanté and Nemanja Matic, have presented a solid block and has allowed David Luiz to utilise his greatest assets, his strength and passing ability, without exposing his biggest weakness, his positional sense.
Eden Hazard and Pedro, operating in effect as inside-forwards, have been able to exploit the awkward pockets that exist between the opposing holding midfielders and full-backs. José Mourinho is not the first to see the best way of countering the http://www.officialislandersproshop.com/Billy_Smith_Jersey pair as being to use three central defenders, so one can always step out to meet the opponent with the knowledge the other two are covering. For those who see the game primarily in positional terms, which Mourinho probably does not, it is the obvious solution.
All three of the coaches working in the Premier League who were at Barcelona when Louis van Gaal was in charge in the late 90s have a grounding in juego de posición and have tried the back three against Antonio Conte’s side. First was Ronald Koeman but Everton were beaten 5-0 in November. Then came Pep Guardiola but Manchester City, despite being the better side for almost an hour, lost 3-1 a month later.
Mourinho simply applied the same logic but with a greater emphasis on defence and with greater http://www.officialavalancheauthentic.com/Ben_Smith_Jersey resolve. Eight teams have played a back three against Chelsea this season. Six have lost. Recognising a solution and being able to enact it are not the same thing.
There were other issues beyond United’s defensive excellence. Ander Herrera did a fine job of marking Hazard, who is so key to Chelsea’s attacking approach he has created 66 chances this season, 25 more than any of his team?mates. Other sides may be tempted to follow the Herrera model and man-mark Hazard, although for teams used to playing zonally, losing a midfielder to such a specific task can be disorienting. Hazard, anyway, may not seem quite so bereft when he has Marcos Alonso back as the left wing?back, offering a familiar option outside him.
Would Thibaut Courtois have been quicker off his line than Asmir Begovic to meet Marcus Rashford when he scored United’s first goal? If Mourinho’s side had not taken a seventh-minute lead would they have been able to play as reactively as they Brock Nelson Youth Jersey then did? Just as the early goal shaped the league meeting at Stamford Bridge, when Chelsea won 4-0 in October, so it influenced Sunday’s game. If Chelsea are minded to look for excuses or explanations, they are readily found. The bigger concerns with regard to the title run-in are the fact they have not kept a clean sheet in the past 10 Premier League matches and Diego Costa’s loss of form.

Uefa has heavily criticised the World Anti-Doping Agency for wrongly flagging up a positive drug test by the Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho after he took a fat-burner without the club’s knowledge last year.
Sakho, who is now on loan at Crystal Palace, was suspended at the end of April 2016 after testing positive for higenamine following the second leg of Liverpool’s Europa League last-16 tie against Manchester United Alfred Blue Jersey the previous month. However, in early June Uefa’s disciplinary body absolved Sakho of taking a performance-enhancing drug and on Thursday European football’s governing body went further still, releasing a damning report pointing out that higenamine is not specifically listed on Wada’s prohibited list.
The report also suggested there are significant doubts among experts about whether higenamine is among a group known as B2–agonists, all of which are banned by Wada – and pointed out that Wada’s laboratories do not routinely test for the substance and that if Sakho’s sample had been handled by the Lausanne laboratory and not Cologne’s then it would not have been tested for higenamine.
The Uefa report added: “Higenamine is not expressly mentioned by name on Wada’s prohibited list. The fact that the Cologne laboratory tested for higenamine but had to check with Wada before making a determination indicates a problem, as does the fact http://www.officialbaseballcardinalsstore.com/Chris_Carpenter_Jersey that the Lausanne laboratory does not test for higenamine at all.
“In this regard, Dr Saugy [giving evidence] explained that he has not received any formal instruction from Wada to test for higenamine and explained that the Lausanne laboratory would not start testing for higenamine until such communication is received.”
It continued: “The onus is clearly on Wada to communicate to its laboratories what is and what is not on the prohibited list. There are clearly gaps in communication with regard to higenamine, something which also tends to support the suggestion Authentic Dexter Fowler Womens Jersey that Wada’s own internal procedure and analysis in respect of this substance is incomplete.”
Sakho was suspended by Liverpool when Jürgen Klopp, their manager, and the club’s owner, Fenway Sports Group, agreed it would be prudent to omit him from games while the investigation commenced, and he was then provisionally suspended by Uefa. Among the games he missed was the Europa League final, which Liverpool lost 3-1 to Sevilla after leading at half-time, and he was also omitted from France’s squad for Euro 2016.
At the time Michele Verroken, director of Sporting Integrity and formerly in charge of anti-doping in the UK, said she advised athletes against using any substances described as fat-burners. “What is causing that fat to burn is that these supplements contain a form of stimulant,” she said. “They are not regulated products. It’s just too big a risk. I warn against any weight-loss products. It’s probably going to be a prohibitive supplement.”
Sakho fell out with Klopp having been sent home from a pre-season tour for reporting late for a series of team meetings during the trip to the United States, after which he was accused of displaying “a lack of respect.” But having missed the early part of the season with an achilles injury he has prospered after joining Palace in January.
However Wada spokesman Ben Nichols insisted that many of Uefa’s criticisms were misplaced. “Higenamine has been considered prohibited ever since the 2004 Prohibited List, however it was expressly named [for the first time] on the 2017 List as an example http://www.texansproshops.com/Benardrick_Mckinney_Jersey_Cheap of a selective and non-selective beta-2-agonist,” he said.

• Wilton Speight No. 1 QB but competition remainsDateWed Apr 19, 2017 11:08 pm
Topic by pinkpink. Forum: Forum News

Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh expects his team to compete every day.
Wilton Speight struggled in Saturday's spring game, but the incumbent still has the lead over Brandon Peters and John O'Korn as the team nears the end of spring practice.
"It'll always be (a competition,)" Harbaugh said Wednesday at the Horatio Williams Charley Taylor Womens Jersey Foundation in Detroit, where and his staff ran a clinic for Detroit high school coaches. "Still over the course of the whole spring practice, Wilton on our depth chart, he's No. 1. But it's a meritocracy. By your effort and by your talent you will be known. That's a good thing for our football team."
The team is headed to Rome, Italy, at the end of this week, but the practices there will be severely scaled back from the four-hour outings here in Michigan. Harbaugh plans 1 1/2-hour outings during the final three days of the trip.
The quarterback competition will spill into the fall.
"We get it in camp and we go through camp, somebody that stands out and it's undeniable, that's what we're looking for, there's that one guy," he said. "Probably eight, nine, 10 practices, that's probably the range where you make up your http://www.authenticnikeredskinshop.com/darrell-green-jersey-for-sale-c-7.html mind on something like that. It's always going to be that meritocracy."
Harbaugh has spoken highly of Speight, who started 12 of 13 games last year, only missing one due to injury.
Harbaugh said he expected Speight to be one of the nation's best quarterbacks at the U-M football bust, the team's annual awards banquet.
But he was very impressed with the command of Peters, who completed 9 of 17 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown in the spring game. Peters also rushed for a TD and orchestrated the game-winning drive for the Maize in the exhibition.
“I thought he did extremely well,” Harbaugh said. “I think this gives him Authentic Bob Feller Womens Jersey confidence, should anyway, the way he performed, and just really asserted himself as the leader, as the quarterback.”
Harbaugh said O’Korn is the most assertive of all the quarterbacks in the spring.
“Somebody that just has to win in practice in the spring game, in practice, in drills, that’s what the team wants from their quarterback,” Harbaugh said. “Somebody that leads the team, is assertive, is decisive, so all that is still generating right now. But the quarterback that will do anything for his teammates to help win a ballgame I’m looking for that. That’s an area where Brandon is in the process of growing to.
“I think we’ve got three good guys and they’ll be battling for that position.”
Harbaugh said the ankle injuries to receiver Eddie McDoom and http://www.officialindianstore.com/Corey_Kluber_Jersey offensive lineman Jon Runyan suffered in the spring game are not serious, “nothing broken, not long-term.”… He updated the Italy plans, noting that a number of players, including McDoom, are choosing not to go. Receiver Drake Harris is among them but his situation is he has a final too late, on April 26, to play catch-up just for a few days. He said 99 players are scheduled to go… None of the players who sat out injured on Saturday have injuries that will affect their status in the fall. When speaking to the coaches, Harbaugh noted that quarterback Alex Malzone had an ankle injury that kept him out all spring and offensive lineman JaRaymond Hall had an elbow problem.

• The future of the Lions is under threatDateWed Apr 19, 2017 5:55 pm
Topic by pinkpink. Forum: Forum News

Ireland legend Gordon D’Arcy has told Independent.ie that he fears for the future of the Lions unless radical changes are made to the structure of club rugby, as he also suggested the tour may be losing some of its significance for southern hemisphere nations.
The upcoming tour to New Zealand may be one of the most eagerly anticipated events of Authentic Alexei Emelin Womens Jersey the sporting year for rugby fans in Ireland and the UK, but D’Arcy suspects the All Blacks who will lie in wait may not view the three-Test series in the same light.
“There may be something in the theory that the opposition do not view the Lions tour as being as important as we do over here and that is a concern,” begins D’Arcy, who was part of the 2005 and 2009 Lions squads.
“The win in Australia four years ago was crucial in reviving the Lions in many respects and I hope we never get to a stage where a conclusion is drawn that we don’t need the Lions any more.
“The game has changed with the introduction of professionalism and the Lions haven’t in many respects. It may be that the thinking around the Lions needs some discussion in some way, shape or form to make sure it retains its place in the game moving forward.
“From a players’ perspective, a Lions call is still so important. The players http://www.authenticcanadiensonline.com/Authentic-Alexei-Kovalev-Jersey under consideration may tell every journalist that asks them about it that they are not thinking about the Lions, but their face lights up at the prospect of winning a place on the tour and long may that continue.
“You want to be a Lion. That should never change. Hopefully it never will.”
Former Ireland captain Paul O’Connell voiced his concerns that the Lions may lose their significance in a game that has been diluted by the advent of professionalism, with the reducing number of tour games also an issue under discussion in a crowded rugby diary.
D’Arcy believes the pressures of the modern game are in danger of putting strain on the Lions importance in the rugby calendar, as he hinted the players coach Warren Gatland will take with him to New Zealand may not be at the peak of the physical powers.
“One big issue is the Lions are not necessarily working in Benson Mayowa Youth Jersey tandem with the other organisations in the game,” D’Arcy told us.
“The Premier League, the PRO12, summer tours, the Six Nations. It is a busy schedule and at some stage, you need to reflect on how we find additional space in the calendar for a Lions tour.
“You are asking a huge amount of the northern hemisphere players this year. Coming off the back of a really tough year with the World Cup, they then played a lot of international rugby before going straight back into club action without much of a break.
“It is a really tough schedule, while the southern hemisphere teams seem to get a little more break time, which is vital in any sport.
“The Lions players should be at their peak for that tour. You would like to see the 40 players going on that tour not being wrecked by 35 matches and just two weeks rest. A brief break like that doesn’t really put you in a better place for a Lions tour of New Zealand.
“The trouble is, a Lions tour is worked around the Premier League, the Champions Cup, the Six Nations. We need all of those competitions to identify the players who are in form and ready to play at Test match level, but then the calendar is http://www.nikecowboysjerseys.com/barry-church-jersey-for-sale-c-42.html being squeezed with so many games needed to be played.
“There has to be a way around changing the schedule that would allow space for the tour to breath. That would require a little but of giving and taking on all sides, but I think it is worth the effort.”
“A win in New Zealand would be fantastic and the idea that the Lions are not relevant is not in my mind. As long as the schedule issue is resolved, I believe the tour can retain its place at the heart of the game.”
D’Arcy believes Ireland’s famous win against New Zealand last year exposed some flaws in their set-up and he hopes the Lions can expose those again when the Test matches get underway.
“The New Zealand magic has been dispelled a little bit,” he adds. “I wouldn’t say they are vulnerable, but Ireland have shown they are beatable and that is important, They don’t have players like Richie McCaw and Dan Carter any more and it would be great to see a successful tour of the Lions.”

• Wenger delighted with timely winDateMon Apr 17, 2017 10:27 pm

Arsène Wenger issued a reminder that you do not have to be young to be modern after his side ended a run of four successive away Premier League defeats with a 2-1 win featuring a brand-new formation at Middlesbrough last night.
Arsenal’s manager, 67, arrested his slide Brett Cecil Youth Jersey by showcasing an unexpected back three against spirited opponents fighting to avoid relegation. “It’s the first time in 20 years I’ve played it,” he said. “It shows that, even at my age, you can change.
“We’ve lost a lot of direct fights centrally so it gets us a bit stronger in the air. It gives the team confidence to have something new to believe. I felt it was needed. We were vulnerable. Confidence in life goes away quickly but comes back slowly. There was some nervousness for us.”
Goals from Alexis Sánchez and Mesut ?zil, either side of álvaro Negredo’s equaliser lifted Wenger’s team to sixth, seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, albeit with a game in hand. A manager simultaneously http://www.officialavalancheauthentic.com/Erik_Johnson_Jersey engaged in a similarly draining power struggle with his club’s chief executive, Ivan Gazidis, accepted that qualifying for the Champions League is an uphill task but was relieved to end Arsenal’s worst league run on the road for 88 years.
“We needed to win,” Wenger added. “We were tested and maybe rode our luck on one or two occasions with crosses but we were committed and the back three worked well in the first half, we were solid. Now we have to win every game to have a chance of getting in the top four.”
Asked if the reluctance of Sanchez and ?zil to sign new contracts Erik Johnson Womens Jersey had affected Arsenal’s form, Wenger gave a cryptic reply. “Despite sometimes difficult situations, or some situations that lack clarity, we are professional people, our job is to perform and we can still perform,” he said.
While he, once again, declined to reveal whether or not he intends to remain in charge at the Emirates next season, Steve Agnew hopes to persuade Steve Gibson, Middlesbrough’s owner, to offer him the job on a permanent basis. Although he has taken only two points from his five games since succeeding Aitor Karanka, Boro’s performances have improved considerably and there was Dexter Fowler Womens Jersey second half period when they threatened to win.
“My players were amazing,” said Agnew whose side are second bottom, six points behind 17th-placed Hull City with a game in hand and a vastly superior goal difference. “They played with such intensity I couldn’t have asked http://www.officialbaseballcardinalsstore.com/Chris_Carpenter_Jersey for any more from them. I’m so, so pleased with their spirit and effort but disappointed to lose.”
Not that he is resigned to relegation. “We’re still only six points behind Hull with a game in hand and a terrific goal difference,” he said.

This was anything but pretty at times and will not take up much space on an end-of-season highlights reel but all that matters for Liverpool right now is that they have rediscovered the art of grinding out victories away from home and are tightening their grip on a top-four finish in the process.
Hot on the heels of their Calvin Pickard Womens Jersey impressive win at Stoke last weekend, which was their first in the Premier League on the road this year, Liverpool clinched another three points away from Anfield and Roberto Firmino again made the telling contribution.
The parallels with Liverpool’s triumph at Stoke did not end there, however, as Simon Mignolet, who produced a couple of outstanding saves against Mark Hughes’s team, made another vital intervention against Albion by denying Matt Phillips as the winger broke through on goal with only 10 minutes remaining.
Tony Pulis had his head in his hands as Mignolet saved and the Albion manager must have felt like doing the same when Liverpool took the lead in first-half injury?time. Scoring from set-pieces is supposed to be Albion’s forte, and defending them Liverpool’s achilles heel, yet the tables were turned here as Firmino, via a flick on from Lucas, headed in James Milner’s wide free-kick.
It was the Brazilian’s 11th Premier League goal of the season and provided the defining moment in a match that did not really come to life until the closing stages as Albion desperately pushed for an equaliser at one end and Alberto Moreno squandered a wonderful chance for Liverpool to put the game to bed at the other.
With Ben Foster caught upfield trying to score – Pulis made it clear to his goalkeeper afterwards that he never wants to see that again – Liverpool broke away and Moreno had options to his left and right. The substitute chose to go http://www.cavaliersproshop.com/Iman_Shumpert_Jersey it alone, however, and stroked a 40-yard shot the wrong side of the post. It was tempting to wonder what Jürgen Klopp’s reaction would have been had Albion scored when they pumped the ball into the Liverpool area moments later.
Mignolet, though, was able to deal with the danger, punching clear at a time when his team needed him most, and shortly afterwards Klopp was jumping around on the touchline to celebrate a hugely important three points. “I hope you’re not surprised,” Liverpool’s manager said, when asked about his reaction at the final whistle.
“This is one of the most difficult places to go because you can’t feel J.R.Smith Authentic Jersey comfortable in one moment of the game. You need to be on the highest concentration level. But we have been actually. For us it was very important because showing this concentration level until the end didn’t work each week in the last few months, but today it was really good.”
Klopp was reminded of the fact that Pulis, during spells in charge at Stoke, Crystal Palace and Albion, had never lost a home match against Liverpool before, yet maybe everything was in place here for that eight-match unbeaten sequence to end. Albion have enjoyed an excellent season and are still eighth but there are signs that things are tailing off http://www.officialavalancheauthentic.com/Erik_Johnson_Jersey now that they have passed the 40-point barrier. They have failed to score in four consecutive Premier League matches for the first time since 2003.
“Missed chances,” Pulis said, when asked to explain that disappointing record. “We’ve had three really good opportunities where I would have expected to score but you can’t criticise the players. My one disappointment about our performance was the first 20 minutes of the second half. And they scored bang on half-time, a goal that we’re disappointed with because we think [Craig] Dawson was fouled. But we’ve still got to defend better.”
Firmino was certainly grappling with Dawson prior to breaking free and stooping to head past Foster, although the chances are that Pulis would have expected the goal to stand if the same thing had happened at the other end. What is clear is that it was an awful time for Albion to concede.
Up until that point they had frustrated Liverpool and restricted them to one decent opportunity, when Firmino dragged a low shot inches wide after Philippe Coutinho intercepted Claudio Yacob’s careless pass. Albion, who were http://www.officialavalancheauthentic.com/Gabriel_Landeskog_Jersey playing mainly on the counterattack, had looked certain to score earlier on through Nacer Chadli until Firmino got the faintest of touches to prevent the Belgian from side-footing home. Hal Robson-Kanu later shot tamely into Mignolet’s arms.
Despite those first-half scares Liverpool dominated possession and ought to have doubled their lead when Milner profligately volleyed Firmino’s cross over the bar just before the hour mark. Then came that late Phillips opportunityfor Albion, when Mignolet spread himself and stuck out a boot to block a shot that Pulis felt should have ended in the back of the Liverpool net.

In Game 1 of the marquee matchup between teammates-turned-MVP frontrunners Russell Westbrook and James Harden on Sunday night, the latter walked away victorious.
Harden, who led his Houston Rockets to a commanding 118-87 win, finished with 37 points (on 13-of-28 shooting), nine assists and seven rebounds in 34 minutes. He struggled from beyond the arc (three-of-11), but hit a pair of threes midway through the fourth quarter to help put the game away for good.
He also had his fair share of highlight-reel moments — most notably his crossover of Thunder big man Enes Kanter en route to a wide-open layup.
Westbrook, who finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds and Daniel Norris Womens Jersey seven assists but shot just six-for-23 from the field and had nine turnovers, was bothered by tough defense from the pesky Patrick Beverley throughout. He also didn't have a chance to stage any of those late-game heroics that we saw time and time again in the regular season, as his Thunder found themselves down by as much as 32 in the closing minutes.
"(Slowing down Westbrook) was a team effort," Beverley said. "We just try to show him a lot of bodies, try to make it as tough as possible on him. We understand that he's one of the most explosive guards in this league. Can't one person http://www.authenticcanadiensonline.com/Authentic-Bob-Gainey-Jersey guard him, of course, we understand that. Just try to make it tough on him, try to make him shoot a lot of contested threes, and tonight I guess we got lucky."
Westbrook didn't have much help from his teammates, either. Other than defensive specialist Andre Roberson, who finished with 18 points (one shy of career-high), shooting guard Victor Oladipo made just one of his 12 shot attempts (8.3%) and finished with six points in what was a disappointing playoff debut.
It was more of the same Authentic Carey Price Youth Jersey the frontcourt, as Steven Adams and Taj Gibson had just six and five points, respectively, and were dominated on the boards. The Thunder entered the postseason as the No. 1 rebounding team in the NBA, but were outrebounded 56-41 by Nene, Clint Capela and Co.
The Rockets, who went into the half with a five-point lead, began to run away with the game midway through the third quarter, shortly after Adams set a hard screen on Beverley to set up a wide-open three for Roberson, which brought the Thunder within two. A couple of possessions later, Beverley hit a pair of corner three-pointers, which added to Houston's 25-12 run to close out the quarter.
Harden praised Beverley after the game, who finished with a postseason career-high 21 points and 10 rebounds.
"He brings it every game. Whether his shot is falling or not, he brings that intensity, that dog that we need," Harden said. "Tonight, he made shots and was aggressive. He rebounded the ball http://www.authentictigershop.com/authentic-cameron-maybin-jersey.html a high level, which he's been doing lately. He was just Pat tonight."
The Rockets and Thunder meet for Game 2 Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
"We've been here before," Westbrook said. " ... It's first one to four (games). They won one on their homecourt and regardless of if you win by 20, two, 40, it doesn't matter. It's still 1-0 and we've got to come back and be ready to play for the next one."

Manchester - Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho masterminded a brilliant and unexpected 2-0 home victory over former club Chelsea on Sunday to breathe new life into the Premier League title race.
Mourinho gambled by resting Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera's goals gave United a win that leaves Chelsea just four points above Tottenham Hotspur with six games to play.
Victory also lifted United to within four points of fourth-place Manchester City, on whom they have Casey Cizikas Authentic Jersey game in hand, ahead of the derby at the Etihad Stadium on April 27.
It was a personal triumph for Mourinho, who saw his side thrashed 4-0 at Chelsea in October and was branded "Judas" by fans of his old club during last month's FA Cup defeat at Stamford Bridge.
A wet, cold Manchester afternoon was the setting for United to end a run of 12 games without victory against Chelsea, stretching back to a 3-2 away win in October 2012.
Chelsea have now lost twice in four games, having gone down 2-1 at home to Crystal http://www.authenticnikeredskinshop.com/art-monk-jersey-for-sale-c-11.html Palace earlier this month, which will give in-form Spurs fresh hope that the Blues may yet collapse as the finishing line nears.
The top two meet at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals next weekend in what now looks a significant test of Chelsea's mettle.
ited, meanwhile, will approach Thursday's Europa League quarter-final second leg at home to Anderlecht, which is poised at 1-1, on the back of their best display under Mourinho.
Chelsea were without goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois due to an ankle problem, while Marcos Alonso succumbed to injury in the warm-up at Old Trafford, bringing Asmir Begovic and Kurt Zouma into their usual first XI.
Mourinho set United up to stop Chelsea, with Herrera and Matteo Darmian tasked with the responsibility of tracking dangermen Eden Hazard and Pedro wherever they went.
But despite Herrera's chief role as a stifler, he created United's seventh-minute opener, albeit in contentious circumstances.
He seemed to block Nemanja Matic's pass with his right hand, but referee Robert Madley played on, enabling Herrera to split the Chelsea defence with a sublime through ball for Rashford.
The 19-year-old raced in behind David Luiz before clipping a shot past Begovic for his ninth goal of the season.
With Chelsea striker Diego Costa spending more time provoking his opponents Brandon Scherff Youth Jersey than taking shots at goal, David de Gea was a virtual spectator between the posts for United.
Costa became embroiled in penalty-box tangles with United centre-backs Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo and was booked for a late challenge on Paul Pogba.
With the willing Jesse Lingard playing in support of Rashford, United looked far more lively going forward.
Ashley Young twice spurned presentable shooting opportunities from the edge of the box, while Rashford saw a cross headed onto the roof of the net by Gary Cahill.
Short of a 25-yard drive by Costa that flashed wide in stoppage time, the half-time whistle sounded without Chelsea having offered anything in attack.
Any hopes the visitors had of masterminding a turnaround vanished within four minutes of kick-off in the second half as Herrera doubled United's lead.
Zouma's tackle on the burrowing Young sent the ball rolling into Herrera's path http://www.officialislandersproshop.com/Cal_Clutterbuck_Jersey and his drilled effort flicked off Zouma to fly past the grounded Begovic.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte sent on Cesc Fabregas for Victor Moses, with Pedro moving to wing-back, but still the league leaders toiled, Pedro twice curling shots over De Gea's bar.
At the other end Rashford remained a constant menace, teeing up Lingard to bend a shot over and twice going close himself, ruffling the side-netting and testing Begovic at his near post.
When he departed in the 82nd minute, with Ibrahimovic taking his place, he was accorded a richly deserved standing ovation.

They gathered in two dugouts in Chicago this week, representing not only every component of the game but also perhaps the hope and future to help heal Major League Baseball’s ongoing shortcoming: the scarcity of African Canadiens Authentic Jersey Americans playing baseball.
While baseball celebrates the 70th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier Saturday with glorious ceremonies and a statue unveiling at Dodger Stadium, it will only camouflage the harsh reality that there are fewer African Americans in baseball than at any other time in the last 60 years.
African Americans comprise just 7.1% of players on this year’s opening-day rosters, the lowest percentage since 1958, according to a study by USA TODAY Sports.
There are 62 African-American players among the 868 on active http://www.officialavalancheauthentic.com/Carl_Soderberg_Jersey rosters and disabled lists. Eleven teams have no more than one African American on their roster, and the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies have none.
“That’s unbelievable,” says the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Dave Roberts, who with the Washington Nationals’ Dusty Baker are baseball’s only African-American managers. “You ask yourself, ‘Why is this happening?’”
There are a litany of reasons why the African-American population in MLB has dwindled from 17.2% in 1994, according to the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), but there are signs of optimism. Six of the top 30 prospects in this year’s draft, according to ESPN and MLB
.com, are African American — including perhaps the top three picks. Five of the Bob Gainey Womens Jersey top 12 high school prospects, Baseball America reports, are African American.
Baseball also is starting to see results from the millions of dollars it has poured into youth programs, urban initiatives and showcases. This will be the third consecutive year that an alumnus from the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program and Breakthrough Series will be selected among the top five picks, with Los Angeles high school pitcher Hunter Greene likely one of the the first two players chosen.
“That’s the biggest thing is just educating and teaching the kids at a young age,” says Lombard, who was a USA TODAY All-America high school running back in Georgia. “I think the Urban Youth Academies are outstanding, bringing the sport to some of these http://www.authenticcanadiensonline.com/Authentic-Andrei-Markov-Jersey inner cities. There are so many great athletes that come out of Miami, where I live, but they don’t grow up playing baseball because they don’t think it’s a cool thing to do.
“We’ve got to change that and tell them the benefits of playing the sport. I had seven or eight surgeries in my career, and I played 16 years. If you had one of those injuries in football, they just move on to the next guy.
“I know I want to help. I think all of us do. And I really believe we can help make a difference.”
In the name of Jackie Robinson, baseball can only hope.
